Bangkok 01/12: The Annual Thang

Welcome to Bangkok. The last time I was here was at least 3 years back. Hence, decided to go with JSee, so called an annual thing that we just need a trip to somewhere. As long as it requires a passport :P To North

There is only one flight a day flying direct from Penang to Bangkok which departs at 5.25pm. The journey to Bangkok took us about 1 hour 40 minutes, which by the time we touched Bangkok, its probably dinner time by then. The ride was fine just that it took us quite a while at passport clearance. The funny thing about it? The local officers who ushered us to the respective counters actually thought that we were locals. FOL! While queueing up waiting for my turn, we stumbled upon a drunkard who started to question us and trying to be funny! Oh, well. We of course left as soon as we were done and headed off to catch a cab to the city.

When we hop up to the cab, JSee actually asked me how much was it. There were no nothing but written 900. Being a little lost and confused, we handed the piece of paper to the driver which later we were told that its 900Baht to drive us to the city.

After when we managed to checked in and dropped our stuff in the hotel, we left Nana and headed over to check out those hot spots in town. There goes, JSee brought me to Soi Cowboy. Yeah … so its when I have 20 sets of not very pretty boobies and pussehs right before my eyes. Never once seen so many at one time! What a great start for year 2012.  Soi Cowboy

Its rather packed at Soi Cowboy. An alley where you can find hundreds of people all around the world from different walks of life.Soi Cowboy

This place would be one of the most happening ones available in town but not recommended for kids under 18. It would just be pretty awkward to bring your family to such places. Anyway, we didn’t spend much time there. Drank a bit and left the place before being mistaken.

Penang Heritage Food Trail : Nostalgie Homestay & Cafe

Penang is well-known for its UNESCO Heritage, topping up that its located at the heart of the island, its been a busy town. It definitely does bring back those memories back then in the olden days.

Photobucket… and Stewart Lane is part of it. Its nice to chill at this kinda weather, with such wonderful ambiance topping up with good food.

Having Nostalgie to be situated strategically in one of those lanes, little did you know whats the core of it.  Photobucket

The Menu.
Photobucket

Spaghetti Marinara with Prawns – RM24. Looking at the prawns on the picture makes me drool. It is served with parmeson cheese and the two gigantic prawns. I love pasta with slightly more olive oil as the combination of the taste of all the fresh tomatoes, onions and basils being blended on the dish.Photobucket

Something a little different. Chilled Cranberry Juice with Longan for RM9.
Photobucket

Chicken and Basil Pesto Fettuccine – RM21. Awesome dish which come with chopped basil, chicken breast, cherry tomatoes. You gotta taste this!Photobucket

Prawn & Chillies Pizza for RM30, with fresh prawns, mozzarella cheese, basils and of course chillies. It tastes so good and I want more! The prawns are fresh and visible, huge ones, mind you!Photobucket

The ambiance of the cafe is Nyonya-ish, just like back in those days. It does give you the ancient-vintage feel. I was lucky it rained and the best part is, it became so cosy and comfortable that I could have doze off anytime!Photobucket

More pizza for the day. Next in line was Chicken with Feta Cheese Pizza, RM28 for such a wonderful thing to melt in the mouth. Served with chicken in cubes, feta cheese and cherry tomatoes.Photobucket

Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich – RM14, name itself sounded like a killer and … it is! It is serve with some lettuce, grilled-teriyaki chicken and some onions topping up with some fries. I would love it better with lotsa fresh slice of tomatoes!Photobucket

I love carrot cakes in nature. I just can’t deny that its simply my lucky day to have to enjoy every bite of the carrot slice on a wonderful day. RM12 for a slice of carrot cake that you will not regret.Photobucket

Nostalgie ain’t just a cafe. Its also a homestay! Well, its still under renovation but I did sneak in to check out, just to urge my curiosity on how its like upstairs :) Photobucket

Koh Lipe 08/11: Swim With The Fish, Jom!

Ever wonder how bad tans can go or maybe to what extend? :) Oh, nevermind. I am never afraid of the sun. Best part of the trip when everyone else had fun in the water, with the fish.

Its tiring to do without the life jacket and the next mo when I lift my head, I realised that I am way too far from the boat and the group. The current were kinda strong yet, good enough for a day to be in the water.PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Love my nails, they go with my top :P Photobucket

… and the grumpy me!Photobucket

Snorkeling is actually fun. I enjoy every bit seeing the group and fishes swimming. Just that the corals are scary. They really are. I still feel that corals look like a chunk of rotten potatoes and waiting for their prey but I still wanna do it again :) Wonder when would be next :P

Koh Lipe 08/11: Breakfast in Lipe

Waking up to clear blue sky and crystal clear sea. Breakfast overseeing the deep blue sea.

Since we were heading out to the see, I decided not to bring my cam along. No hp, no camera! Yea, don’t be surprise but I really did survive without those two. But when I saw the sunset, I went … !!! *hit head* Why din I bring along my camera? Lucky thing Alfonso brought his with him and best part was he wasn’t using it!

We were kinda late for dinner. After washing up, yadda-yaddi, we were all ready by half-pass nine? Gosh! Places started to close and all, couldn’t get a place for dinner but one! Well, we were left with no choice anyway.Photobucket

Wine, fried rice and a night filled with laughters.PhotobucketPhotobucket

Welcome to the Bundhaya Resort. A place where there is no reception and purely depending on the satellite :) I dozed off right after dindin, after a long day out to the sea, guess I should be gearing myself up for the next day, a day to snorkel till the sun sets.
