Fresh Bread and Dukkah (RM16) was our starter! It came with two small bowls with  Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Dukkah respectively.
Photobucket

Portobello Mushroom, Garlic Confit, Truffle Oil Pizza (RM35), the pizza brings out the strong taste of the mushroom made it taste really good.Photobucket

I am a big fan of tomatoes! Tomato, Basil & Mozarella Cheese Pizza (RM35) was served next. Well, when tomotoes are served on pizzas, they need to be really fresh otherwise, it will just ruin your meal! Photobucket

Pepperoni & Cheese (RM35), which its simple and good.Photobucket

Prosciutto (RM22), served with slices of rock melon, rocket salad and some olive oil.Photobucket

Serrano Hams (RM22), served with slices of pear. Photobucket

Prosciutto, Pear, Rocket Salad and Parmesan Cheese Pizza (RM35), I love the taste of the combination of the Parmesan cheese blended with pear!Photobucket

Duck Confit (RM38), served with mashed potato and a smoked sausage with some broccoli. Balanced dish, simple and I love the tanginess of the duck.Photobucket

Atlantic Salmon (RM38), mashed potato well made. The grilled salmon is perfectly served.  Its a must try.Photobucket

Pork Belly (RM38), I am not a big fan of pork but its exceptional for this one. It really impressed me. The mashed potato was served as its base and the taste of the pork is very well maintained its naturality of the blend.Photobucket

What a night to enjoy all good food after a long tiring day at work. Here comes the dessert after all the heavy main meals.
Orange Vanilla Crème Brulee (RM16), aside from the taste of the original crème brulee,  the orange and vanilla accents do blend well too.
Photobucket

Panna Cotta with Fresh Berries and Chocolate Sauce (RM16), simple and light after heavy meals. The texture is real smooth.Photobucket

Apple Pie with Cinnamon Ice Cream and Caramel Sauce (RM16), the portion is good enough for a pax just in case after a heavy meal. Photobucket

Chocolate Mousse with Marinated Strawberries, Cookies Crumbles & Brandy Sauce (RM16), the freshness of the strawberries are sour enough to blend with the mousse. Well done.
Photobucket

Apple Pie with Cinnamon Ice Cream and Caramel Sauce (RM16), some caramel sauce and having it served in a strudel. Simplicity still rawks!
Photobucket

Chez Weng has a beautiful ambiance with life band entertaining the the diners too. Not too loud, just nice for friendly catch ups.

Penang Heritage Food Trail : Lighthouse Coffee

I may not be an expert in coffee but I am a certified coffee addict. No joke! I think most of my colleagues might notice this. I will go cranky if I do not have one in the morning. Its just like injecting “morphine”. Sometimes, you really need to hunt in the core of the heritage town for an orgasmic cuppa.

I lurve designs on my coffee, which it is known as coffee art. Here, you don’t get a lot of fancy designs but Lighthouse Coffee is one of those that you can find. When you land your feet into the cafe, the aroma of the coffee runs through your blood. I did try asking the barista if he is able to make my coffee with Angry Bird or Hello Kitty on it :P

Penang Heritage Food Trail : Nostalgie Homestay & Cafe

Penang is well-known for its UNESCO Heritage, topping up that its located at the heart of the island, its been a busy town. It definitely does bring back those memories back then in the olden days.

Photobucket… and Stewart Lane is part of it. Its nice to chill at this kinda weather, with such wonderful ambiance topping up with good food.
PhotobucketA row of pre-war houses.

Photobucket
Having Nostalgie to be situated strategically in one of those lanes, little did you know whats the core of it.  Photobucket

The Menu.
Photobucket

Spaghetti Marinara with Prawns – RM24. Looking at the prawns on the picture makes me drool. It is served with parmeson cheese and the two gigantic prawns. I love pasta with slightly more olive oil as the combination of the taste of all the fresh tomatoes, onions and basils being blended on the dish.Photobucket

Something a little different. Chilled Cranberry Juice with Longan for RM9.
Photobucket

Chicken and Basil Pesto Fettuccine – RM21. Awesome dish which come with chopped basil, chicken breast, cherry tomatoes. You gotta taste this!Photobucket

Prawn & Chillies Pizza for RM30, with fresh prawns, mozzarella cheese, basils and of course chillies. It tastes so good and I want more! The prawns are fresh and visible, huge ones, mind you!Photobucket

The ambiance of the cafe is Nyonya-ish, just like back in those days. It does give you the ancient-vintage feel. I was lucky it rained and the best part is, it became so cosy and comfortable that I could have doze off anytime!Photobucket

More pizza for the day. Next in line was Chicken with Feta Cheese Pizza, RM28 for such a wonderful thing to melt in the mouth. Served with chicken in cubes, feta cheese and cherry tomatoes.Photobucket

Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich – RM14, name itself sounded like a killer and … it is! It is serve with some lettuce, grilled-teriyaki chicken and some onions topping up with some fries. I would love it better with lotsa fresh slice of tomatoes!Photobucket

I love carrot cakes in nature. I just can’t deny that its simply my lucky day to have to enjoy every bite of the carrot slice on a wonderful day. RM12 for a slice of carrot cake that you will not regret.Photobucket

Nostalgie ain’t just a cafe. Its also a homestay! Well, its still under renovation but I did sneak in to check out, just to urge my curiosity on how its like upstairs :) Photobucket
