Toba 02/11: The Last Ferry

The journey continued and the rain began to pour. It started to leak towards the back of the van, some bags got wet and even myself. We told the driver to drop us at the jetty and the best part was, he couldn’t find his way. We pulled over, seeing many shops, asking around, looking for the right direction in the shortest time possible cuz there’s always a last ferry ride of the day. The rain was indeed heavy and the beau got wet hahah poor boy.

Talk Less Do MoreLittle did I know, the locals were watching us :)

It took us a while before we could find our way but at least we did :) It was a relief. It costs us 300,000 Rupiah to ship 13 of us over to the other side across to Samosir Island and that is considered as overpriced as we missed the previous ferry. If we chose to wait for the next 45 minutes, then we will be able save a lil bit. Just that all of us were too excited and anxious to get over to the other side. Noone really bothered about paying a lil extra just to get ourselves to the island.

The Last FerryIt slowly got darker and colder, what more it had been pouring bulls and cows. To me its cold. Beau’s jacket not enough for me.

Does the ferry look scary to you? With a bunch of friends I might not be afraid, but if I were to do it alone, I might have considered a couple of times.

Just two

Unfortunately, no sunset for us. I was hoping for some extravaganza, gorgeous sunset in Medan. A lil disappointed but yet again, we can’t foresee the weather. What to do? At least the potholes drove us crazy.

Cloudy Sunset

The wet day.CloudyThe ride was scary! The ferry actually broke down in the middle of nowhere and that’s when the idea of Somali pirates slowly creep in. Yea, that is the bunch of travel kakis I have :)

The Ferry

Part of the crew. On the ferry we were, waiting for the rundown vehicle to be fixed.. . . all were relieved when we touched the land, the island known as Samosir. Can’t wait to check out our cottage!

Toba 02/11: The Journey

The patience, excitement and adventure of Toba 2011.

To Medan from Penang

Well, I would say this is the biggest group so far. Nevertheless, I enjoyed best traveling with them, just that its a lil different this time, with my sis and the beau joining us. All of us took the earliest flight to the Polonia International Airport. Welcomed by “Teh Botol”, something which I have fallen for during my first trip to Indonesia.

The van ride began. The number was huge and all of us traveled in a van which has the air-con intermittently “mati” and “hidup”. Oh, well. Everything to me would be experience, which I took it as one :)

Smile
The approximate 4 hours to Berastagi from Medan was … urmmm … well, lets call it experience okay? Despite perspiring and getting soaked in sweaty shirts, there were so many potholes which I lost count of. I never in my life experience so many potholes!

Local KuihPulutI had hot milo for lunch. If I were to have something heavy, I believe I’ll have it all out without minutes considering such ride which will be taking us hours to reach Lake Toba.

Milo

The beau claimed that it was yummeh

Fried Rice

Oh, well. “Potholes + endless honks” ride didn’t do me any good though. It started to pour and it started to get colder. The next stop would be Tongging, Spiso – piso waterfall.

The view was magnificent!

Sipisopiso waterfallBatangsWe did not spend much time though. It was just a while as it started to drizzle not long after that. When we started to gather, thats when I realized the beau had gone missing. The next moment, I saw him and Aaron got lower for a closer shot of the waterfall.

Pot

Well, we were in the midst of catching the next ferry to Lake Toba. We were so close of missing the ferry. It took us approximately another hour to get to the jetty just to get over to the Samosir Island! Pffft.

Langkawi 01/2011 : When the Sun Sets

Something I we love . . . just to do nothing but watch the sun sink from the surface of earth . . .

Gorgeous torch lighting off …

It reminds me of something . . . lemme laugh again . . . hahahaha!

A wonderful dinner on the beach :)

. . . with a splendid ambiance, nothing else matters :)

urmmm . . . with a glass of ice lemon tea . . . yes, just tea . . .

I craved for tomyum even when am away . . .

a mix of cuisine . . .

. . . with live band too . . .

The night did not just end there . . . Eagle Rock was next, the place that changed my entire getaway to a perfect one.

… with the soothing wind kissing your cheeks, comfy couch under the moonlight, sound of the waves hitting the shore… its time for a peace of mind!

Guess I can be easily found when I am gone missing again :)

Langkawi 01/2011 : In movimento

Stopped a couple of times to get my directions right. Urmmm … I have a uber bad sense of directions. Oh well, it doesn’t matter anyway. One will never lost their way in this island.

I can’t live without my battery bank when am traveling.

Found this new pal over at the Cultural Village. This new friend is a bit tough for me to tackle ==” Supposed to feed it, it was waiting anxiously to be fed. Just that its ticklish when its licking your hand!

Baby wabbeet! TLC needed just like myself. Nvm, look as if am strangling it.

Eyelashes so longggggg . . .

Nuff with the furries. Time to check out some lost whites on scooters. We were lost too, just that the eyes did not behave. Instead of the sign board, it focused on the boys.

Hot spring it is … locally known as Telaga Air Panas.

Validation completed. Its panas indeed. I want more funnnnn! *hmmph*
