Hatyai 02/2011: Khong Hae Floating Market

We have arranged with our bell boy, Chanai, earlier, that we would want to visit the floating market later in the evening. A very friendly young chap, who is able to understand English fairly and brought us to Khong Hae Floating Market, located approximately 4km from the town of Hatyai (หาดใหญ่).

There’s this thing that got me rather excited over it, whereby the drinks they sell are served in clay, mould in variety of cartoon characters including Hello Kitty! Well, it cost only 25Baht each including the clay mug.

Just about all kinds of local Thai food, snacks and drinks are sold by local Thai hawkers on little boats that dock by the river. The hawkers line up side by side
